Cost of annual jabs

around £70 including the call out sounds about right. my local vets is £55 for call-out and £30 for the vacc. luckily now i can do my own - £70 for a box of 5 - bargain!

I got my bill on Friday - £40 call out (I have a vet who isn't my local because they're worth the extra call out!) and £23 ish drugs. Plus vet had Maiden trotted up (old lameness) so it came to £90 in total. £70 is probably the top end.

Both mine were done last week for £67 as part of a shared visit which I think is extortionate. At home we're so close to the vets that we pop them down there in the lorry. I inject the ones that are less important but dont like to inject the valuable ones!!

and i dont think £67 is extortionate - 100% mark-up is quite common on vet drugs and then you've got to pay the call-out. i can see 6 animals in an hour without straying from my front door, whereas your average horse vet probably sees one (or at least only one yard) and has to cover the cost of diesel and the upkeep of the car driving between yards.

Ah ok Star, I tend to miss anything obvious. Now if you had put it in tiny small print in the corner of one of your pictures then i would probaly have notice it
