Been offered a field, with 2 old stables (that need alot of repairs)

So how much would it cost is you where to rip down the stables that are there now and put up 2 new stables, and possibly a third and a tackroom/haystore.

Including putting more concrete down (not sure of actual size yet)

Also how much would it cost roughly to post and rail fence a 1 acre field?

Ta in advance!

I have just paid £11.75 per metre for post and 3 rail fencing. The guy supplied all the materials and errected the fencing for that. Very pleased with it, looks fab. Not sure about the cost of concrete and stables though.

You didnt mention services (water/electric/drains) in your post. These if needed could add maybe 50% onto the tota; (but varies a lot depending on where they have to be brought from). Just bear in mind they are a siignificant expense. Hopefully as there are existing stables these are already in place !
You may well also need PP unless replacing like with like.

Hey Monts!!

Well Remm I said looks like we were moving but I ended up getting that cob a bit early. Well I asked our builder for a quote for 2 x 12 x 12 loose boxes and a 12x14 haystore.

Now the quote for foundations using equine mix concrete, hardcore etc was 1.5k

Now using tongue n groove, including glavanised chew strips on stable doors and black onduline roofing he quoted me 3k that includes everything including kickboards and guttering etc and erection.

He built my dad's stables over 12 years ago and they are still standing and are just great. Be careful as the minute a lot of builders will rip you off because your an equine. Depends on the ground as well costs more if its marshy.

I mean even farmers rip us off by charging £25-£30 a bale of hay/haylage. Scandalous and people actually pay that!! the minute people discover its for horses they assume your loaded and bump up prices all over the place.

Rant over :)

Also my builder has arranged for a select registered sparky to fix up the electricity supply for me for £200

Water supply is also hooked up via a hose as the outside tap isnt too far so no cost there. Although I am looking at getting automatic drinkers :)
