Just got my invoice from the Vets and I see that I am paying over 97p per sachet (60 were £58.39 inc VAT)

I always thought it was more than Bute but not that much more

.... seem to have 60p in my mind

I pay about 56p per sachet of bute before VAT. I'm sure we had some danilon lately but can't find it on the invoice.

Thank you .... that's about 66p for Bute then, so about what I thought

I suspect that offering to post POM's is 1) illegal and 2) against the rules of this forum.

Possibly but it was meant as a kind gesture .If vets didnt inflate prices It wouldnt have even occurred to me.We all help each other out on our yard and I just considered it as a similiar gesture to someone that has supported me in the past.

The original poster lives in West Sussex. When I worked in West Sussex we crossed with over 20 practices and would regularly meet rival vets in the same yard. This made it ultra competitive and prices were kept low in order to keep the business, the large number of vets combined with the right to request a prescription (albeit with fee) gives owners excellent choice.

Everybody knows that sachets of bute/danilon are handed out between friends in yards, but offering to do so on a public forum is liable to land you in hot water.
