Hi
I was just wondering how much your dog costs you per week, food and other supplies included. Also, for those with cats, how large jump did the price differ?
Thank you!!

Four collies and four JRTs £19 for bag dry food and £6 for tinned meat so £100 month plus vets worming etc.

Mine costs me about 10p a week to feed as he eats raw and I get free bones from a local farm butcher, insurance is about £20 a month which covers all his vet fees other than an excess of £75 a year (on longterm meds for hip and back problems), then worming on top of that.

I hate to think. Roughly £160 per month in dog food, plus £35 per dog annually for vaccinations, plus £35 (in total) every 3 months for worming, plus vets bills totalling £650 in the last month....

about £20 a week in food, he eats lots! also he gets pigs ears and bones, probably about £3 a week on them. nearly £10 a month of fleas and worming, also extras i have spent, new bed £50, waterproof jacket and florescent jacket £25, toys...
my cat has expensive hill science plan food as she always has and wont eat others, but she eats a lot less, so a £35 bad lasts over a month, she loses a few collars, fleas and worms. she doesn't 'do' toys! and prefers sleeping on our clothes to cat beds, so just put towels down.
dogs are a lot more than cats i think, as need more stuff! but i do have a very low maintenance cat.

Insurance: £38 per month for one dog (crap company and lots of claims), £24 for the other
Vaccinations: Cheap as I work in a veterinary practice but previously £33 per dog per year
Food: Roughly £1.20 per day (raw diet) for two dogs
Flea and worm prevention: Again cheaper for me but previously £12 a year for two lots of Milbemax and £16 a year for two lots of Advocate

Ends up somewhere around £25 a week in basic costs I think.

If you added up how much more I've spent on training classes, equipment, entry fees across two disciplines, modifying car etc. it would be a truly obscene amount. Worth every penny. :)

I have 3 giant breed dogs, 2 large breed dogs and 2 border collies and dog food costs me around 25 per week for them all.

ETA. I have 3 cats and their cat food cost about 15 per month.

The malamute is about £10 a week in food and then 2x dog walker for the two days that there isn't seine home during the day. Then his insurance is £20 a month so in total a month for him is roughly £88 a month. The Doberman pup eats less so she's roughly £60 a month.
