Cost of Lessons

I had a showjumping lesson at home recently and it cost me £30 and my dressage lessons only cost me £20 - Just wondered what the going rate was for freelance lessons ?

has competed jump & eventing to int/adv
dressage she competes at PSG and above

£15 for 30minutes if your a livery
if not i think its alot more not entirely sure on the cost

I have lessons with a BHSAI who has evented to advanced level and is currently competing BD. She also breaks horses to harness to drive.
I currently have 2 hourse of teaching a week for £10.
(I have a special rate of £10 a hour and she's giving me some extra hours for a bd present)

My old instructor was £20 for half an hour - that was me going to him. He charged £25 to come out to me.

I have just been quoted £35 from a top dressage trainer to come out to us, that is for 1hr.

A local general riding instructor (ie riding school type instruction, not a specialist/competitor) charges £20 per hour to come to our yard.

I hack to my instructor its 10-15min hack in walk which is a good warm up/cool down, I pay £20 for a 45min lesson sometimes goes a bit over time. Thats for flatwork and jumping.

My dressage trainer is £30 for 45 mins.
Jumping instructor is £25 for an hour. Both of those prices are for them to come to me.

My dressage instructor is £30 for 30 mins hence I will only have one once every three weeks.
Jumping lesson is £25 for an hour.

Bloody expensive hobby.

I go to my BHSII instructor and pay £30 for 45 mins.

Just done a SJ/dressage clinic with Jeanette Brakewell at Warwickshire College, 1hr 30mins, £25 (£35 for nonRC members).

Also do riding club training for £10/15 per session.

My instructor is £40 for 45mins but worth every penny. I have one every fortnight.

My instructor is a BD judge and has evented to quite a high level himself, dressage or jumping £25 for half an hour- me going to him.

£16 for lesson at my yard on either my own horse or one of the RS horses.

or £30 for a lesson with the riding club with someone with a very good competition record in showjumping and dressage

I dearly hope my RI doesn't see this. She is going to want to double the price

I currently can afford 2 lessons a weekend - 3 if you include 45 mins on my horse and the same on hers learing to jump on saturday.

How much are your riding lessons? For how long?

My instructor comes to me and it costs £25 - he's worth every penny as he has made me so much more confident (I'm still a wuss by not such a big one !) and is happy to explain things until I understand (not always 1st time !) I know of a professional dressage instructor close by who charges £40 for 40 mins.

Er - 7 quid for however long it takes to nail down what we are trying to learn... anything up to and over an hour.

BHS qualified and is taking her Disabled riding thingy exam next month and regularly competes BSJ.

She is already on our yard and if she needs any help with anything we usually pitch in.

Old trainer (ridden to GP level) £60

Current trainer and YM (ridden to PSG Level, BD judge) £30 for liveries, not sure how much for non liveries

All for an hour or thereabouts, usually slightly less.
