What's the typical rate a horse (or pony) in part livery in M25 land/ Herts/Essex,etc

By part livery, I mean 7 day basic care (feeding, mucking out, turnout, rugchange, but no exercise).

My guess is min £85-95 per week for a basic yard with responsible YOs... or am I being too optomistic

Oh that's not too bad. Thanks. It's some time off (four years, I think) before I could consider owning my own, but I want to know if it's worth investing time, emotion and money in my dream *goes all emotional* whilst being trapped in the London rat race *mournfully dreams of the old country* ;-)

I am in london/herts border and 7 day full livery is £540 at a yard with good facilities DIY is £160 a month I am on assisted DIY.

My yard is DIY and I pay £36 a week which includes am feed and TO. Part livery in Kent is usually 5 day and I was quoted £75 and I had to supply feed/bedding/hay, 7 day would be a lot more

I would say you are looking at 100pw if you want good care and facilities. My horse lives just outside the M25. London is just not even funny for prices and normally no turnout.

I go to alot of yards in Kent when teaching and on average I would say 7 day part livery is about £95/100 per week for a reasonable yard with arena, good turn out, jumps etc etc.

Many people reduce the cost alittle by doing week-ends or buying their own feed/bedding.

Is there a difference between areas around the home counties. It's quite obvious that further out from London you are, the easier it is to find cheaper livery, but:

Is south of the river (Kent, Sussex, Surrey) more expensive than north of the river (Beds, Herts, Essex?)

I will prob want a place fairly close to the edge of London (although I guess not actually in London). Don't tell my OH, but I would prob want to chose the next flat based on the cost of horse activities in the local area.

part livery in north london is (we are literally next to the M25) is about £85 a week, and thats for 5 day livery, use of their basic feed (otherwise supply your own) use of their limited bedding (or else buy your own!) but fantastic facilities (except hacking)

My yard in on London/Herts border has all year turnout - though it is muddy at the moment. There are cheaper yards locally but I choose my yard cos of the turnout.

I've had horses all my life in N London, Herts/Beds borders.
Every yard includes different things for part and full livery - what you want (7 day care) is more full than part. You will be looking at >£90 pw.
Most DIY is £25-35 pw in the area.

i live just on the border of chobham in surrey and it's so expensive here - 7day part livery (ie everything except grooming and riding) is between £100-£130 a week (works out around £500-600 a month!)

If you are like me and want some hacking then I used to keep my horse in Mill Hill/Totteridge on a 250 acre farm where there was plenty of turn out, a menage and a small indoor arena. I could also hack to Arandeane Open Space, Hampstead Heath, Hyde Park, South Mimms Woods and Brickets Wood. I used to have a maisonette in Mill Hill East which has an undeground station (Northern Line) or Mainline Station from Mill Hill Broadway. All quite convenient for Central London.

Cheers for that, Peter. I used to live in East Barnet, and I noted that there were some yards around the north of the "greater London" area, as you describe.

I hope there are suffient numbers of yards still availible in about three years time LOL.

this place is £95 per week for the service you describe Bromley Common Liveries . It's on North Kent/Greater London borders but inside the M25 and less than 20mins commute by train to Victoria.

I used to be there but when my new horse arrives I'm going to a yard about 10mins further out (£100 pw) because it has an indoor school as well as a good outdoor one.
