Seen a lorry for sale that would require a full conversion to horse box. Any ideas of costs, def not DIY I know where diesel goes in my car & that's it!!

Would only want very basic box, with basic living - no cookers etc, just seats and tack area. Don't like side lockers. 2 horse area would be fine also - more for horses c omfort than human.

Thanks.

A bit of a 'how long is a piece of string' question. i would suggest around the 12-15k mark. I bought our lorry & had it converted. Its is 7.5t DAF & had it converted to carry 3 ponies or more normally 2 horses. It has quite a good living & it cost 20K 2 years ago.

What do you call a full conversion as if its complete body 20k + as to be honest overall the living does not add a huge amount .If its a true conversion where you use the original body exterior make sure you get the right truck in the first place as structural integrity is everything.

Ouch so maybe not a cheaper option lol.
No unless you are a keen DIYer its also a good way of getting ripped off too I would look for something done!!!! Ive built my own lorry and there is a lot of hours work hence a conversion isnt cheap, also not all box vans are suitable ie wrong size, matirial and a lorry that carrys goods oftern has a shorter wheelbase (more overhang) which makes it unsuitable to carry horses due to all the load being carryied right at the back behind the axle, so you need some expiriance or someone to help you get the right truck ... sorry to sound negative...
