I will admit I'm totally overwhelmed with lots going on so this is probably out there but I can't find a quick answer.

How much realistically does it cost of feed raw? For context I'm looking at a 15.5kg whippet who does sports.

I've been doing more reading on how to best support Fizz long term post pancreatitis and raw seems to be the way to go however I am concerned about cost and time as I assume its cheaper to DIY but I work full time, I'm studying for a masters and planning a wedding for April so I have limited time and just feeling overwhelmed with options etc.

I pay £7 a bag of 2kg free flow minced chicken and tripe. Lasts my 22kg lurcher 3-4 days. Hope that helps. She does get lots of other treats including her joint supplement and dorwest herbs keepers supplement.

I feed 2 - 11.5kg and 12.5kg at 2% and 3% respectively of bodyweight for around 35 a month including delivery of daf
I could spend a good bit more easily. I could possibly spend a little less at some inconvenience
It does depend on the dog, 12 was on 4% plus for years and still looked a skinned rabbit at times

It used to be REALLY cheap until Brexit scuppered The Dog Food Company here in Suffolk (nationwide shipping I think). And it was the fave of our dog too. Not looking forwards to switching.

Mrs Collie is similar in weight and I assume activity levels? I buy a mix of paleo ridge/cotswold/natural instinct for my two. Works out to be about 17-20 quid a week for Mrs Collie I think. ?

Slightly less than Millies Wolfheart or similar premium grain free kibble. DIY doesnt take any time. Its just a case of taking the right pack out of the freezer and making sure it roughly evens out at 80/10/10
Really? That’s interesting. I’m not sure my brain can cope with calculating ratios with every meal but I am occasionally tempted. I just know I’d hate doing it vaguely though.
I see people mince whole pheasant carcasses, do they leave the feathers on? Do you gut them ? (No reason you should know that answer!)

When ours have had birds they get the whole thing, they really enjoy the pulling it apart and eating it all

I think you're supposed to gut them but I just feed as a whole and accept there will be feathers to sweep.
I "diy" in as far as I get mince blocks from daf, usually with tripe because they tend to be higher in bone than they say. I keep a bit of offal and/or tripe blocks as well and if poos are a bit firm they get some mixed in the next meal. Technically what I buy are called completes but they're as cheap as buying free flow and mixing

I’m not sure I’d want ripping whole pheasants up. I know they can tell work and not work but I think that’s a big risk.
I think I’ll stick to kibble, although it costs me a fortune!

You could pluck them, or quarter them.
You shouldn't just feed one meat anyway, leads to possible intolerances and deficiencies

I spend about £35-40 a month for my 12kg senior dog. It's not DIY though, and that doesn't include treats/supplements etc.

I spend about 50p per dog a day. But I buy from my butcher. They get in chicken carcasses, and chicken necks and they sell pet mince which is meat and offal. I can get as many bones as I want from them for a small donation to charity. I’m lucky as my dogs don’t have any allergies. I don’t weigh or check ratios, but I change quantities of mince to necks/ depending on their poo. They also steal carrots from my horse and have human leftovers sometimes.

I used to use them too when back up in Surrey but now I use a good one local to me and it is a lot cheaper than most and good quality.
Costs me about 50 quid a month to feed 1 fat russell, 1 whippet x saluki lurcher and 1 mad 11 month old LARGE Huntaway and I also get 30lb boxes of chicken carcasses and beef, pork and lamb off cuts from local supermarket for £4.99 incredibly good value!
