My horse has a couple of sarcoids and I have the vet coming out later this week to assess them and discuss treatment. The vet was very vague when I asked about how much the treatment would cost because of the many variables which I can appreciate. I know it will vary but please could anyone who has had sarcoids treated let me know roughly how much it cost. The treatment wouldn't be covered by insurance so just wondering how much it is likely to cost! Thanks in advance :)

Just paid a bill one on the neck and two possible sarcoids one in behind the elbow and one on the quarter ( neither of these where thought to be sarcoids but I asked them to remove them just in case ).
The bill was just short of £1000.

In the process at the moment. The Liverpool Cream and Vet referral to Leahurst has so far come to £468. On top of that I will get a bill for four call-outs over 8 days to apply the cream and so I am expecting it all to come around the £1000 mark as well. My youngster has about 12/15 sarcoids of different types and Leahurst supplied 3 pots of cream at different strengths.

I have got insurance this time, albeit with an unusual excess that I will have to pay (£125 + 15% of the total claim), but for any future treatments (hopefully not) I will have to fund them myself.

Hope this helps.

About £600 for the Liverpool cream.
Tried toothpaste which worked on some, but not all.
Have seen mixed results with using Aloe Vera gel.lately, good ones.

My vet advised only use duraphat if you are going to use toothpaste, and it tends to work on flat ones but not nodular.

I had liverpool treatment for my horse, they wernt huge sarcoids, size of a 20p piece and the flat ones 50p. A fair few though. Only a couple came off with the liverpool cream, I was gutted. I was going to wait until after summer and start again however I decided one month to put him on global herbs restore, the liquid version just to give him a boost, after i finished the bottle i noticed the sarcoids had changed so got another bottle and they started popping out.

I never expected that result and was very pleased, he has 1 left that is also on its way out.

Im not saying it will work for anyone else but that's just my story, i cant get over that the liver tonic got rid of them where the liverpool cream couldn't. When having treatment it might be worth using the tonic too, just for a little boost.
Good luck x
