Round my way anything from £140.00 plus per week
Cheaper are available, but i would even go there - mess the training up and it will cost a hell of a lot more to put right.
I'm budgeting between £150 and £200 per week to have a good job done because I see this as an investment in my mare's future. I'm not looking to have her backed until October/November but I'm looking now as good people get booked up.
Based in the south west I offer training livery at £125/week. Backing/starting livery is £140/week and is more just because 2 people are needed for the early stage preparation and ridden work.
It is more expensive in South East and central counties.
Generally we allow 6 weeks for the horse to be walk/trot/cantering in the school happily on its own and working with another quiet horse, go over poles on the ground and hacking out with another horse. Of course all of this depends on the horse but 6 weeks is normally enough for all of the above in the average sane youngster!
