Lovely coblet! I am being converted having ridden a few recently actually they are very versatile and usually good doers which is a bonus!
Your coblet is a prime example, lovely mare!

Dont you wish horses had a plate on them that said - 10kgs hay+ 3kg of hard feed of per day in hard work in winter - needs 4kg and 0kg hard feed when on good grass for 12 hours in hard work in summer !

What about petrol to and from the yard? turn out and livery for those days you are on holiday or sick.... rugs, changing tack, your stuff ie wheelbarrows, forks, hay nets, buckets, feed bins....

wormers.... insurance excesses, fly spray..... sorry....

Gosh - how fantastically organised are you! Wish I was that good.

Sounds like your new ned has got everything planned for him/her and you've even covered for insurance excess. Impressive.

To answer your question higher up - yes, your vet should travel for a 5 stage vetting. Mine travelled 90 minutes to vet my boy last year (although I did have to pay for travel).

Am sure there will be lots of people on here looking forward to a potential pony search ;)

Ginger witch- would be helpful if they did wouldn't it ;)
Have included all yard equipment within the £5k budget :)
As per above, some liveries I have looked at offer the assistance some don't so it depends which one I chose with regards to that and also petrol (two trips if not assisted for example). I think for a comfortable budget I'd be ok on £400 a month. We do also have a hefty savings budget for emergencies.
Some yards are on my way to work others nearer to home or in between the two so again I need to consider this when I look.

Nic nac - thanks for answering that I did wonder if they charged extra to travel.
I like to be organised :)
I will definitely be looking for a helping hand in the search. Hopefully sooner rather than later!

Little critter - yea that price is based on stable, field, use of outdoor school and hay or haylage. Not sure on how much hay is supplied whether it's limited or not so that's why I have factored in a cost for hay to be sure. The other liveries vary with assisted one being 277 a month including one hay net a day, 1 bag of shavings or 2 bales of straw a week, turn out or in 5 days a week and muck out 5 days a week (probably wouldn't use this one personally as I'd do it in the morning and be assisted for turn in)
So more but obviously get extras there :)
