Costs for reflocking

I recently paid £96 for a master saddler to come out to me (I think about 30 min drive) check and advise fit etc- Reflock the saddle and fit a new gullet bar which i already had.
I was fairly happy with this- he was there a long time and when he left i felt much happier that the saddle was a good fit but is this about normal?

Mine was £87 last week for callout and check fit, reflock and change gullet bar but i didnt already have the bar so this was charged for. I was quite happy with this as he spends time checking everything and always does a great job. Plus my girl is going much better now so well worth the cost. I'm in shrops/staffs border.

mine charges £30 call out and check saddle then £30 to reflock and bring back and check.

Really??!! I paid a lot then- on the phone i was amazed at the charge but decided when he was there probably the going rate and worth it....maybe not so!

Where abouts are you, if you dont mind me asking? (pm if you prefer) you might not be a million miles away and i need another saddle done- hence my asking this question, wonder if your saddler covers my area?

I pay £96 too (wonder if we have the same saddler?!) and i take my horse to him so no call out. I have to say he does an absolutly wonderful job, and flocks with layers of foam as well as wool which gives an enormously better result and also avoids needing the saddle reflocking as quickly as if you had it reflocked the 'traditional' way. I have to admit, I wouldn't have anyone else to it, even if they were free!

Before I used this guy I had a couple of saddles reflocked by another local master saddler, well, the job wasn't even in the same league! I would suggest that if you are happy with the work then your saddler is worth his weight in gold, some couldn't do a good job of flocking and fitting to save their life!

I paid £30 for a saddle check and Bowen treatment and £30 for a total reflock.

I recently paid £70 for saddle check and reflocking for a master saddler visiting the island from UK.

To cover travel costs etc, I thought this price was reasonable.

I recently had a saddle fully re-flocked - it took well over an hour and cost £90. I imagine those that have replied in the the £30 pound region were only having a partial re-flock?

For a full re-flock I would say that was reasonable.

yes i imagine the difference maybe is the full/partial reflock?
Such a massive difference though, i'm quite amazed! In my area i pay a minimum of £30-£35 just call out for anything!
