costs for top rider lesons/clinics?

Anyone attend clinics with top riders/trainers, or would like to ?

I used to train with Billy Towmey who charged £40/hr, I note that Lionel Dunning charges £30/30 mins (which seems piontless tacking up for that length of time!), Jane Bartel clinics cost about £55/45mins which seem cheap for her standard.

Who do you train with (or wold like to) and how much do they/would they cost?
 
I don't train with anyone *well known* as such, but happily pay £1/minute usually for a lesson. Also, what's wrong with 30min lessons? Assuming you warm up & cool down your horse unassisted, that takes it to 1hr total work which is surely enough for most horses usually? I would almost always warm up before going into a lesson unless asked not to or say first lesson with a new instructor (that I intended to use on a regular basis) so they could get the feel for the horse from when he's fresh from the field to worked in.

It would be interesting to do some clinics with 'top' riders, but I wouldn't bother at my horses level of training, and I would be very reluctant to pay over about £90 for an hour lesson. For a clinic I wouldn't want to pay over £60 - at the end of the day, it's a one off & the person would be far less likely to see me & my horse again, so I would get less out of it really, and if it was regular I wouldn't be ABLE to pay more!
 
i have a xc course near me where louise skelton comes to regularly and she does xc flat or jumping £27.50 for 30 .mins

I kina agree that i would want it to be regular to get the most from it but more than £60 I couldnt afford it enough to be of huge benefit. Although I would concider sharing the lesson with someone else of same standard as i do think you also learn by watching others. In this case i would think £60 for hour would be ok on a monthly basis, what do you think?
 
The most I have paid in £40 for 45 mins with someone called Tom Graham, he comes to my yard in Surrey from Oxfordshire (used to teach a livery who was at Oxford uni and she recommended him) and does an all day clinic. He comes about every 6 weeks which I think is just right - means I can justify the cost and have time to work on what was covered in the lesson properly.
 
I also paid £80 for 45 min - for a trainer that came monthly from Holland.

My amazing trainer that I have now is £50 for 45 minutes. This is an international grand prix rider, with lots and lots of experiences, and can solve any problem.

I wonder how much Carl H charges for a lesson? anyone know? you probably have to wait 6 months or more to get a spot in his diary though ;)

Conrad Schumacher lessons - when he visits from Germany - are £150 for 45 minutes !!! eek, so expensive!
 
I pay Alex Hargie £40 for 45mins, worth every penny. I think he normally costs £45 for 45mins but lots of people at my yard use him so its worth his while to come for lots of up at once.
 
Id love a CH lesson! however is it the name that makes me want this? im no where near needing a teacher of his standard but i suppose this wont matter if its reasonable cost. Mind you id be so nervous till i knew him a bit better!
 
I went to a Blyth Tait Showjumping clinic yesterday and it was £30 and we got well over an hour. Fantastic value for money and learnt soooooooooooo much!
