Cough

That sounds like an allergic reaction, so, if I couldn't work out the trigger and remove it, I would ring the vet now and book a non -urgent appointment.
Thank you. I do think he's ill though as it came on quite quickly and he doesn't normally have any breathing/coughing problems. He seems a bit quiet too, although better than he was on Sunday. But the cough is worse than yesterday, and the snot! Yuk. Anyway I called the vet but they're not coming until Thursday so I'm hoping he makes a miraculous recovery tomorrow.

If snot green and horse subdued ASAP. However, I called vet for subdued horse who was breathing too rapidly, i rang as soon as looked off and they came same day, only gave me ventopulmin as I asked for it, said nothing wrong, no temp, I insisted v off so they left the ventopulmin. 36 hrs later emergency vet for horse with green snot, off food, v v subdued and breathing awful with high temp. Apparently temp not v often found as only lasts 24 hrs or so, so usually called out too soon or once temp gone down again. They gave him something, v worried about him but he was fine in few days.

Bo had the same this time last year.

Vet came and his temperature was slightly up, so he had a course of antibiotics and was right as rain a week later.

Thanks, I'll keep checking temperature. And monitoring colour of snot. Hoping the snot production is a sign that mucus is loosening up and he's feeling a bit better, but of course if it turns an icky colour I will re-worry.
