Hi can anyone help - my horse developed a cough about 2 and half weeks ago - vet came out said he had slight wheezing sound but nothing major and that it would probably clear on its own but could also give ventapulmin as he competes as it would help it clear quicker. By end of last week there was no coughing even when worked properly - even did abit of jumping. Finished ventapulmin on Monday when he also had his flu booster. Had Monday and Tuesday off then light hacking work yesterday was fine in walk and trot had a canter and coughed abit, Worked him today on the flat and now coughing in trot and appeared to be abit of mucus in mouth after. Going to ring the vet tomorrow but does anyone have any ideas? Could this be reaction to the jab given that he has only just got over the cough, he did have a slight swelling at injection sight last two days which he has never had before. Has not had any snot for over a week and is on woodchip bedding with soaked hay - in during day and out at night. He has never suffered from anything like this before. A few others on the yard have similar symptoms all of them are fine in themselves not off food and full of energy.
