Coughing , crackly noise !!!

this am when arrived was in the process of feeding my three horses , heard a crackling / wheezy noise from one of my horses , does suffer with copd but no problems for a while , he sounded. Really crackly , checked resps all
Ok bright and eaten well just few odd coughs ,anybody elses horse even like this ? X

this is the case for the vet, sounds like an infection or serve issue with mucus.

Check temp for signs of infection and get the vet. I've got pneumonia atm and have crackling sounds from my lungs. The crackles are an indication of a problem with the airways.

i would say get the vet. sometimes when horses cough it is to try and remove mucus, in the yard i used to work at we had to record every cough made by a horse (some had over 30 in an hour and vet was called to scope) he may have a little infection which with COPD you should get a vet out just in case and also to put your mind at ease.

Another for vet. its often cheaper in long run if catch something early.
