One of my show horses had flare up copd and had thick Discharge from his nose vets put him straight onto ventipulnin twice a day coughing is now getting worse to every day and does sound chesty , worried that could be more than copd , temp all good any advice ? X x

What are you feeding by way of forage?

My horse used to have terrible coughing fits and had to put her on Ventipulmen too. Turned out it was due to the hay. It was either too dry or dusty or both. Switched her onto haylage and she has been fine since.

Has he had antibiotics my mare picked up a virus at a show and started coughing was fine in herself with a clear discharge until it went on for about two weeks when she got a sinus infection and had a thick slug like greenish yellow discharge from one nostril A course of antibiotic and she was fine and has been since

Have a horse in my yard that is coughing. A small amount of clear discharge. Vet came this morning and checked him out. No chest /lung problem, No temperature, heart rate normal. Has been put onto a course of Antibiotics (Just in case) and we will be giving him some Koff Ease to sooth the throat.

There is a fair amount of pollen around so could be Hay fever.

Hi he's still
On the ventipulnin , vets back again Wednesday to check on his lungs as had crackles on exam , all obs are normal and no thick discharge like there was just watery now , I though viral at first as was quite shaky the week before x
