my TB has NEVER coughed, last year we moved him to a yard with internal stabling and this winter he has had a cough when I am riding him, particualry when warming up. not a hacing cough just a cough then a clear of his nose.
he has had no nasal discharge im now soaking his hay and feeding from the floor, he is on shavings and I spray the shavings so reduce the dust.
the barn is naturally dusty and there are other horses coughing.
the vet is booked for next thursday to come and do teeth ect so they are looking at him then. im worried sick as he has never had any respitory issues and evented last year with no issues at all and is otherwise as fit as a fiddle and in great health.
i stupidly googled it and im now worried beyond belief! anyone elses horse developed a cough over winter?
he does get out everyday in the field unless the weather is awful then he stays in.
