Could anyone recommend a good haylage supplier pls?

Hi

As title really - we are looking for a supplier of the large round (1/2 tonne type) bales who can deliver in (moderate) bulk.

We are in Herts but literally just off the M1 so guessing most suppliers will deliver from neighbouring counties

I know there are loads of suppliers out there but really want recommendations from peeps who can vouch for the quality (my eventer currently has upper respiratory tract disease from exceptionally dusty haylage..grrr

)

Any help much appreciated before I have to go trawling the back of H&H and the internet!! Thanks

I buy haylage in 20kg bags from Thorogoods in Essex. It is seed rye grass and extremely good stuff. They sell in all sorts of sizes and quantities.

Try www.lincsforage.co.uk will deliver as long as a certain amount (you'd have to e-mail her how many) quality is excellent and range from v low energy to v high

We have used Lincs and Thorogoods both fantastic and the horses can't get enough of it!

Thanks guys - can you tell me roughly how much it is per bale (for the 240kg)? Obv there is likely to be delivery charge (altho with 8 hungry horses we need a fair few bales!) as we are quite far away but just so i can compare to prices I have been quoted thus far!

I have a local guy from Pedley mill - he does all sorts of haylage starting from £16.50 a bale for the cheapest stuff.

Another vote for Lincs Forage. A very big choice range to choose from for what is suitable for your horse and will give you a full analysis sheet as well.
