OH's staffi was not very well Monday night and was being sick in the night and then had the squits yesterday, OH took him to the vet and got him some antibiotics and he had an injection but i wonder if chews could have made him ill? Cos he had some over the weekend? And like the pigs ear things?

'Apparently' chews contain alot of chemicals... so to keep them fresh... it has been suggested that some contains formaldahide?! (sp?) perhaps as he is not used to them they have effected him badly

This is normal if he is not used to paticular type of chew, esp those with a more sensetive stomach.....any food/dietry change can cause this type of reaction.
A starvation period and bland food normally sorts the loose motions before reintroducing the familiar diet.

If you want to treat him....try introducing one type at a time and wait and see what type of reaction you get b4 offering him more than one.

When we re-home our rescue dogs we always advise people to introduce new food/chews slowly and not to overload.....and when in rescue they rarely get treats and are fed the same type of food...........can u imagine clearing up 20 odd dogs with loose faeces

When they go to new homes the first thing people do....is rush out to stock up on chews/treats

He has had them before but just doesn't get them very regularly so maybe that was why then. Weird that it makes them ill though! Would never have thought that... he maybe had about 3 stick things and one pigs ear thing!!
