Hi All,
I have never had a hogged cob before, but recently I have started wondering if my tank of a cob could pull off the hogged look. He is quite an itchy boy who enjoys a scratch, so I think having the hair off would be a relief to him.
I would also like to know - as I have no intention of rugging him over winter (the boy needs to shift a bit of timber), should I consider rugging him (not planning on clipping him, though might do a bip clip as I think he will be a hairy monster) given he would then be without any protection from his mane on his neck? Advice please.
Photos for your consideration - he is a Traditional Gypsy Cob, a real tank of a horse. Feathers clipped 4/5 months ago and they're nearly all grown back. His mane is wispier than it should be, probably because he rubs it and my other gelding enjoys nibbling it. p.s I have no idea how to make these photos smaller..!
