Could I ask someone to have a look please

For a 3 year old, he's very weak and under nourished. That neck looks like it can hardly hold his, admittedly very sweet and a bit worried, head up. It looks like he's had shoes on the front that were left on too long. His hind end is sloped like a standie and he seems to have a parrot mouth.

Could someone post a screenshot of his profile for me? I guess the owners of that site don't like Canucks, I can't access it.

I'm nearly certain I can see the outline of a saddle shape on his back, sort of like a light weight racing saddle outline, with panels and start of girth below, so I wouldn't be sure he was unbacked either. I also think it looks like he has a parrot mouth.

I think it depends very much on what you're wanting to do and your experience? I bought an Irish import at the start of this year, he wasn't cheap but I spent an additional £950 in the first two months on wormer, lice treatment, transport, getting him jabbed from scratch, and having his teeth done. The £800 looks appealing but remember that's just the start! That being said, if I were looking for a very cheap project to take a risk on I'd snap this one up. If you can envisage him in two years' time I think he would be really smart. This was my one after he got off the boat in April: View attachment 151166View attachment 151167 This was him five months later: View attachment 151168
I saw the first 2 and thought hm not y type still lanky, then I scrolled down and saw the third - wow what a difference, filled out and looks nicely covered well done.

Check too that he isn't a little standardbred pacer, unless that is what you want, of course.
I was thinking the same! He has a standie looking head and confo for sure. I love standardbreds, but WTF is with the front feet? It looks like they photographed him halfway through a trim!!

The coloured they have for sale has some wonky conformation too, the front left looks like it's bending inwards? If that's 3.5k and the other is 800 I'd wonder if there was more to the story.

That being said I'm a sucker for a kind eye so may be worth a punt if you're prepared to lose it.

He is lovely now but gosh we was very poor to begin with wasn't he.

Hard to see all the surprise about a poor looking 3 year old with poor conformation not being backed yet.
I never have,in 50 years of having horses and 35 years in the veterinary profession, abd never will support the backing of any 3 year old horse. I thought general awareness regarding the scientific evidence of structural maturity of 3/4/5 year old and older horses had improved by now.

For this particular individual, it's about the only positive for his future if he hasn't been backed too early, at 3. Those pasterns ,straight hind legs, terrible feet , shelly body and generally weak appearance would not stand up to early backing. The only chance he's got, really, would be for some fortunate, generous soul to "rescue" him, leave him with a quiet herd in good acreage, do the basics to teach him basic handling, get his feet sorted, wormed, dental work etc...then look at him again at age 5. With absolutely no guarantees his conformation will have improved, but at least he would have had time to mature a little, get stronger, and possibly be capable of becoming a happy hacker. This is obviously unlikely. Not one to try to get right and resell as a riding horse in any lesser time period.

I thinks its an optical illusion with the dark black location of his markings. It cuts across and around the knee and even from the other side it looks like it bends the other way. He's also standing in soft uneven ground too. I love his expression.
Think its a dealer though over 100 ads previously posted.

I'm after randomly finding the seller advertising on an Irish horses and ponies for sale facebook group. Wouldn't say they have the horse long and wouldn't know much about it.
They seem to sell a lot, and cheaply too.
