Dexter is very unsettled again tonight. He's been great since his trip to the vet on Wednesday til tonight. Hasn't been sick but won't stay still and is wandering from place to place, asks to go out but doesn't really want to be there. Am feeling a bit teary 'cos I am knackered. This will be the fourth late night/ early morning in a row!!
Have spoken to the vet, am taking him back again in the morning if he is no better. He says he will do some blood tests and possibly X-ray him. Petplan are gonna love us, we are starting 2010 as we finished 2009, with huge vet bills.

No sickness and this unsettled behaviour only started around 5ish tonight. He has been on small frequent feeds of the special sensitive food vets give you and today I mixed in a small handful of Pro Plan as he was so hungry (sanctioned by the vet).
He has been mooching around the yard with me but no real exercise, a quick pootle around the fields and that's it.

Aw, bless him (sorry, you may already know I am a tad paranoid/obsessed about torsion/bloat

but it obviously isn't anything that serious) and hope the vet can offer more answers in the morning, hopefully Dex is just in a funny mood tonight x

He isn't happy about you touching his belly but it doesn't look bloated or particularly hard so fairly certain it isn't that, well hope not. Now you've got me wondering.

Oh no, please don't worry, if he is only getting small amounts of food and hasn't been exercised excessively then it is highly unlikely and they can blow up in seconds, so you'd have noticed by now

Okay CC thanks for that. Whispers...he seems to have settled a bit now so here's hoping he's just having an off night. Prays that he sleeps through the night.

Yeah he's been going to the loo and they were starting to look normal again. Just went downhill again tonight. Vet said it could be any number of things including Pancreatitis.
I am worried about him especially as we go away on Monday. Our housesitter is brilliant but I hate to leave any of my 4 leggeds poorly.

Hugs to you and loads of vibes to Dexter. Bloat is quite distinctive ime, our dog that had it literally blew up in front of me, and was trying and failing to be sick. Fingers crossed the big lad settles down and you have a restful night.

If it's what the vet suspects he will have a saw tummy....bless him, hope he is ok M, please keep us updated, no point telling u not to worry cos u will.
Huge hugs for Dexter (((hugs)))

Loads of vibes for him and I hope you manage to get some sleep!!!!

I don't know the history of your dog's problems, but for what it's worth Jakey had a summer of repeated gastroenteritis (we did not sleep for 4 months!!!), until eventually I insisted the vet put him on Science Hill Z/D the low allergen version and finally recovered. He is now OK as long as he only has the low allergen food, anything causes problems again. Might be a thought if nothing else comes up.

Good luck

OK Just heard from hubby. Dex is back at the vets. He was much brighter this am and we both got a decent nights sleep, yay!! However, he was not interested in food and had a very un normal poop!!
Anyway vet has taken bloods which are all normal and x-rayed which is also normal. So he is on different abs and hopefully will pick up. He is on his way home now. OH had me speak to him on the speaker phone to try to wake him up and apparently the whole room found this extremely funny!!
Thanks for all your vibes and hugs. Will keep you updated.

So glad to hear that the bloods and x-rays were normal

Daughter talks to horses on the phone when she is away at uni!
Hope Dexter is feeling brighter this evening, and the new ABs sort him out.
