Could it get worse???

I wanted a 7 month old crossbreed and they said he couldn’t go with another dog. At the time I had a 10 year old well trained collie who got on with all dogs she met. I had dogs for 50 years and had experience of different types and felt that it was worth me trying with him as I’m pretty sensible and would never have put my collie at risk. I am also retired and my dogs aren’t left very often so I would be there to supervise..they wouldn’t have any of it

Bonkers isn't it, they could have insisted on several meet ups between the dogs to make sure they would get on, not just turn you down flat.

Exactly, I wonder if they thought I was too old . I was over 70 at the time but I’m pretty sure I’m fitter than many younger people and I’ve got lots of experience but they didn’t even want me to go and meet him…I tried again when I lost my collie as my little terrier seemed a bit lost and I couldn’t find a small dog that could live with another dog ( as far as the rescues were concerned). So once again got a puppy..
