Evening all

My Tb mare was last covered on friday 30th May and so far she hasn't come back in to season. Was going to get her scanned on day 14 but did this with my other mare who then came back into season on day 16 so thought it was hardly worth the hassle.

I expected that she'd have come back into season on Mon/tues this week but nothing.

Any thoughts please

I'd certainly get her scanned as TBs are known to twin.

Yep (and not JUST TBs!) The whole point of the 14-16 day scan is that it is the BEST time to spot twins before they implant in the uterus, at which point they can be harder to spot if they're very close together - and virtually impossible to reduce to a single successfully (so the pregnancy has to be terminated.)

Most mares will show oestrus behaviour at 17 days post mating/insemination whether in foal or not. In fact I have seen it in most of my mares and they had all been scanned +ve and produced a live foal. Scanning is the only way of knowing.

Yes, agree with everyone. Have her scanned now. It'll be the only way of being sure whether she is or she isn't in foal - as well as dispelling any risk of twinning. Good luck, fingers cross for you that she is
