I have been using my dutch gag with two reins for a little while now and am finally at the point where I rarely if ever actually touch the gag rein, which is great, and I think it's time that we found a suitable snaffle for us to start schooling in.
Here's where I'm hoping for some help
I bought one today, purely because it was very cheap and wanted to try it out. I can't remember for the life of me what it is
I will get it out of the car tomorrow and see, but I know that he will probably choose not to like it, because he is fussy like that..
He has a tendency to pull and lean, and is quite strong, although he has got much better, so I was thinking that a hanging cheek would be a good idea, however, he also evades the bit and sticks his head in the air, and it is really hard to push him foreward and get him working nicely...
When I first got him I took him to a dressage comp in a full cheek and the entire time he had his head in the air laughing at me, but I will have to try that one again too...
Thanks for reading, what do you think?
