Have just noticed a maxi cob class local to me in a few weeks. Would love to have a go, I have tried showing once but went in the coloured class and came second to bottom
feedback from judge was it was how he rode.
So, my lad is 16hh v HW Suffolk X, first question is he big enough?
He is hogged, and his legs I keep clipped and his tail pulled - I understand this is correct cob turnout?
This is him (pre-hogging):
Does he look a suitable type?
If so, what is the correct turnout and tack? I have a double bridle for hunting, should he wear that? I only have black tack. Should I wear tweed? And if so, should I wear our autumn hunting getup, i.e. coloured shirt and tie, canary or beige jodhs, brown boots and gaiters? Or something else?
Will the judge ride him?
All advice gratefully received, I'd love to have a go!
