Could the absence of the Calmer in his food be noticed so fast?

Previously posted that Global Herbs didn't work on my boy. He had the last dose day before yesterday and I rode him this morning and he was very sharp and spooky etc.etc.! Would it possible that this is due to the lack of the global herbs so quickly?

ATM he is being ridden three times a week usually for two hours one day and then about an hour and a half each of the other days. I am feeding him a small scoop of dobson and horral herbal mix and a large scoop of dengie high fi once a day. He has also still got grass in his field and gets a small haynet in his field shelter which doesn't usually get eaten completely.

Forgot to add that owing to the current weather! he is mainly hacking on the lanes, but does a fair amount of hills etc. and when he isn't spooking trotting. If the weather gets drier we go on the moors and do a bit faster work.

I would suggest upping his workload...so he tires, and a cosistent feeding regeme including more ad lib hay and less mix. Why dont you try him on pony nuts and chaff? Go back to basics, ride more, trot more, and push him forward?

Leave out the mix completely, just feed Hi Fi with a vit + min supplement. If he then feels tired, add in a handful of mix/nuts at a time until he feels "right". Mix can be like rocket fuel to some of them

I think the global herbs are excellent, but when I moved my boy to a new yard I stopped feeding GH's and I now feed him molychaff calmer, and Winergy equilibrium which premotes good behaviour, since he's been on these feeds he's a different horse and is a joy to ride.
My horse is a very spooky beasty usually and I only ride him at weekends now as well, and he still has'nt got any fresher.

Do you feed the recommended amount of the mollichaff calmer?

Agreeing with everyone else also to the OP.xxx

Get him off D&H STRAIGHT AWAY!

I've known their pasture mix and other 'low energy' mixes send 2 of my TB's through the room. Our feed merchant is also wary of recommending it.

Agree with the comment above - pony nuts and chaff.....and nothing else.....
