Could this pup be a Lurcher Jack Russell cross?

Hi, this gorgeous little guy is arriving with us tomorrow from foster care. The shelter said he was down as a Lurcher cross but she felt that his legs were pretty short for 10wks of age! All I can see is Jack Russell! What do you think? Has anyone come across a lurcher/jack russell cross? Seems a pretty unusual combination.

I don’t see much lurcher but then puppies can be deceiving. There is definitely a strong jack resemblance though! To throw another in the mix, a lot of hounds seem to be cropping up in rescues lately.

Thanks! He's been in foster with his brother and apparently his brother looks completely different with long hair ?‍

Bitches can have litters with multiple fathers so he potentially has a different dad.

A previous YO of mine had a lurcher with JRT markings. When she took him home from the rescue she was told he was JRT and apparently he was tiny.

Seeing the legs on yours now and knowing another dog of that X I reckon they could be right about the lurcher part.

Could be (JRT X longnose), I suppose, or could just be a leggy JRT - we had one years ago, and she could have had a pinch of whippet in there somewhere. Time will tell if that nose gets longer...

He looks like my Ruby with extended legs. My son had a JRT with long legs like that she was an amazing dog. Whatever he is, he's gorgeous.

Actually he probably did - both the boys sleep like that every night, each on their own sofa! (Not Spoilt At All of course) - they are so graceful ?
