I know they can cause girthiness...

Could they cause a horse to rodeo as soon as mounted (after first having lunged nicely first)?

they can show their signs in different ways....

mine never bucked - ever, she was very girthy, bit, woldnt bend to the right

coliced regularly etc

i lost her last year because even living out with her best friend she couldnt settle... so anything goes really with ulcers? they all shows their signs in different ways.

Yes... thats exactly what mine did, he was girthy, but otherwise, ate fine, was calm as a cucumber on the outside, a bit sluggish and behind the leg, but it all came to a head when he absolutely exploded with me one day totally out of character!

Yup.

A livery's horse would suddenly explode under saddle during a schooling session.

Turns out he was riddled with ulcers.

He had a sensible diet and turnout too.

Yes.. although as already said they react in different ways.. My tb was so girthy that he would panic & lay down when girthed up.

Our newbie that is starting treatment tomorrow is showing signs & is hunching up & kicking out when squeezed on to trot.. he is also teeth grinding & very tetchy..
