I have to put the dogs in kennels tomorrow while I go to Milton Keynes 3DE. TBH I am not worried about Islay (new rescue greyhound), it is too early for her to have bonded with me and she is just happy being Tigger-like and bouncing all over everyone

Talisker is older and quieter (around 10 now I think) and is very insecure, he relies on me a lot, and I feel a real traitor putting him into kennels

He has been in kennels before and was fine, but that was a few years ago now

It is only for 4 days, the kennels and the people are lovely, and he will be sharing with Islay. Do you think he will be OK?

I'm sure he will be fine, it will help that he has Islay for company.

I know what a worry it is leaving them - you feel bloody awful don't you?, but they'll be fine, try and have a good time and not worry too much

(hope you feel suitably reassured

Thanks ever so much guys, I know it sounds stupid but I needed someone to tell me that it would be OK

I'm sure everyone does this but I will ask the kennel peeps to keep a special eye on him - and ask them to make sure Islay doesnt bounce on him too much

It will be horrible coming back Monday night as it will be too late to pick them up, so a night in the house alone for me

but I will be there first thing Tuesday morning

Thank you - and thanks to Cala too - I suppose it is because I havent left them in kennels for a few years now. But I know the kennels and people are lovely

It's always nice to leave them somewhere that makes an effort to make you feel comfortable about leaving them in their care

If I was back in England, chez Cala would be Stella's first choice

I'm sure your doggies will be fine in kennels. I've never used kennels, per se, but I have boarded Stella around 20 times in four years, and am pleased to report zero adverse effects.
