Magnetic rug?

I was just thinking how expensive they are. Has anyone made their own? I guess you would just need to know where to place the magnets, what strength magnets to get and then insert them in pockets in the filling? What do you think?

yes
I have
I bought the magnets off ebay - i bought an extra dog bed kit so i could have 7 each side over shoulders, back and over hindquarters - just stiched them into a fleece i have - you can velcro them in but i sat and stictched them in.
Really works
And cost about £60!
equimagnets i think was the shop

I did because my horse is an awkward size so I wanted to make sure the rug fit.

I bought the magnetic rug kit from equimagnets. I was so impressed with it I ended up becoming an agent for equimagnets!

Very simple decide where you want the magnets and sew/glue on the velcro patches. Stick the magnets on (they have velcro on one side) and that's it. Very easy to remove for washing etc.

Wish I'd known about the Equimagnets kits!

As I made a magnetic knee support for my Dad and it was a nightmare sewing the magnets in. If they weren't sticking to the needle, they were grabbing each other!!!

I did this, bought leg wraps on ebay with detachable magnets - then ( on the physio's advice) when we were box resting a stifle injury I sewed them on to a day rug in the correct places - way cheaper than buying a special rug and the magnets are in the most effective place
