could you use these lights around a sand school !!!

When we were building our stables, the man with the digger to spread the hardcore out came at night after work. He used lights like these (don't know what wattage they were though) and they were very bright, and would easily light a school or yard. I don't think they'd be very cheap though!

Have you got planning permission? we put lights up in our school, the very next day we had a visit from the planning office, they had only been on for 5 or 10 mins - testing them at night ... we had to take them down, we don't even have any neighbours!!!!

I have those - nice and bright :) They are very easy to trip over though - or maybe it's just me ;)

If you have 'non-fixed' lighting you don't need planning permission :) My friend has a 5 foot fence around her school so she can mount lights on the fence posts - works fine and no PP needed :)

I have them! I have two sets, both on the same side of the school so they shine away from the village. The stand is tubular metal, so I attached two metal posts to the school fence at about the quarter markers, and then slide the lights onto the post. They are taken down in summer so are not permanent. My school is quite a distance up the field, so I use a 2kw generator. The lights are 2 x 500w, so running all four lights takes the generator up to it's limit, so I find that it's best to run three lights which seems to give ample coverage for lungeing and schooling, but not enough for jumping. They were only about £20 a set, I think I got them from Lidl.
