Took the children and the dogs up a local field for a picnic today, my 13 yr old terrier was running free where we were sat, but I had my 16 yr old patterdale on a lead as hes totally deaf, and although he wouldn't hurt any dogs he does tend to go say hello and I think its a bit dangerous having no means to recall him!

So we were sat munching on our picnic with the geriatric on a lead and the other wandering around about 10 feet from us when a medium sized obviously very male dog came bounding up, my old boy was totally startled as he didn't see it approach and jumped a mile and this dog came in dominantly, made himself very tall, tail curled up, hair up and grumbling, i told it to go away, he saw my other dog, and my other dog told him to push off too, so he flew back at my old boy, I then see the owner approaching on her mobile phone and she ruddy well carried on walking past us!
She then stood about 20 feet away telling very disobedient dog to come, to which he ignored her, my boy on the lead now was getting very defensive so I got up and scared it off, it then went to its owner and she clicked and treated it, to my utter shock I then realised its the local dog trainer who I often recommend to clients as I have heard good reviews!

Changed my mind on that one!

Some dog trainers are complete hypocrits.
Where we started to train, the dog trainer before us was found to be neglecting his own dogs, locking them in the shed and one ended up starving to death. The other recovered and was rehomed. Wouldn't mind but people at the club actually ran a GSD helpline too...and he still had money for a pint at the pub :rolleyes:
some people beggar belief.
