I could not be happier my 6 y/o did his first showing show today. He's been unwell since February with a poorly liver and was finally given the all clear to start work again last week after an improvement in his bloods (not there yet, fingers crossed for this weeks bloods) so I decided to enter him in to a few in hand classes, expecting to be bottom of the pack because he's lost muscle and could do with a few more pounds on him. He managed a 3rd in the hunter type class, 1st in Handsomest Gelding and reserve supreme champion. Both judges commented on his kind handsome head, and the hunter judge said he would have come 1st if it wasn't for a splint! She even encouraged me to pursue ridden hunter classes with him as she rates his chances as he's very polite and has good paces. So I'm over the moon and I just had to share, it feels like it's been a long few months and I'm so proud of him.
