On Halloween of all days, I’ll be moving my horses to the new yard. I’ll go from having practically no contact (about four visits since July) to seeing them almost every day after that. Not the best time of year to make the transition, but I’ll embrace the mud and the cold in return for lots of horsey cuddles (including foalie ones - hopefully!). Will get mud control mats, a shelter, have bought a salt lick, hay is on tap (from the farm). Still have a list of things to get but have some time to sort.
It feels a bit overwhelming, yet exciting. Hopefully once they have moved, they’ll settle quickly (I know it could take time), and we’ll get into a routine and it will feel natural and easy. As the new yo says “it’s your hobby, it’s meant to be fun!”
