When performing counter canter does the horse remain bent to the leading leg or does he bend away from the leading legs
Have been given two contrasting pieces of information so wondered if any of you guys can help?

In a dressage test always maintain slight flexion towards the leading leg. When schooling at home you may have the horse more straight as a corrective excercise (eg for crooked horse - I use this a lot for this). It is unusual to ask for counter flexion unless for short periods as a correction, or as preparation for teaching flying changes.
