Decided to treat myself to some new country boots and looking for recommendations please ?.
Criteria
*decent tread on sole. Primarily to be used for walking the dog in mud.
* tall or mid calf preferably.
*slim calf.

I like ariat but not sure if the soles have decent tread on them? I have always had ariat boots as my god awful feet find them comfy (if I were a horse I’d be shot for poor foot conformation ?).
Price range up to £250.00 looking for something to last.

I’ve had my pair of ariat Windermere’s for 4 years now, worn daily on diy livery plus also hack in them and walk the dog in them. They’ve only just started to get a bit damp inside so I’m really happy with them. They do look a bit grubby though so I have my eye on a pair of ariat conistons next.

I can vouch for the ones sold in Keith Scarrott Shoes in Cheltenham. I have their long ones and the faux fur top ones. I got my daughter the navy ones. I paid full price but they are now in the sale for only 69 pounds. They are definitely cabotswood and 100% waterproof.
In a previous life (when I had money!) ive had Dubarrys but I much prefer these from Keith Scarrott.

I'm pretty sure the cabotswood boots are the same as the ones sold by Keith Scarrot and they have them at £70 in their half price sale. Have a look online

Another vote for Cabotswood.

I have a pair of short "Henley" and a pair of long "Amberley" (another pair on the way as we speak ?).

They are fabulous - lovely quality & very comfortable ?

The official website prices are lower than the RRP on the link above & they have sales & also offer "seconds" sometimes as well.

I tried to get the cabotswood boots but they were sold out of my size in the slim everywhere I looked ?.
In the end I got a pair of Dublin boots from the local country store. They’ve held up ok to be fair

I have a pair of Dublin river boots they are 5 years old and still waterproof, the stitching has come apart at the back of both ankles but I don't go in really deep mud, they lasted longer than my last pair of Ariat they leaked after 2 years.

Anyone wanting Cabotswood Amberley - they are much cheaper on Amazon this week (half the price I paid when VAT and import duty paid - living in Ireland ?)
