How long do you think a pair of country boots that cost £135 (dubarry type but for wider calves) should last if wearing them only at the weekends to walk the dog? Should credit cards be debited if goods aren't in stock when placing an order? Just wanting opinions as having a spot of trouble with a certain online tack shop who have appalling customer service.

If they're under a year old I wouldn't be happy if they were just used for this purpose!
As for cards being debited, I had a delivery today from an online tack shop. I ordered a curry comb in red and it came in black! Not exactly that much of a trauma but they wrote on slip, black out of stock. If it was a jacket or something, I'm wondering if they'd have sent me a colour that was in stock or have phoned me for my choice! I did order the goods a week today and they were only sent out yesterday!!

Thanks everyone, you've confirmed what I thought! The boots are not fit for purpose so I guess I'll be phoning trading standards tomorrow having had nothing but snotty emails back from the tack shop. Will never buy anything from them ever again after this, absolutely disgusting!
