Like how the police said it was illegal for the gypsies to tether their horses on council land, but appeared to do nothing about it!!!

Good to see they are highlighting the issue and raising awareness - particularly interested in the younster fostering they have just shown - lets hope the RSPCA and other rescues get some more volunteers for this.

If only I had my own land I would love to foster a youngster or two for a couple of years, but I don't think I could manage it on livery. great idea though for anyone wanting a companion perhaps for a year or two.

that was amazing my pony is terrified of birds of prey tho lol

Didn't realise there was such a problem on housing estates in the north of England, with kids running around with ponies as if they were dogs, keeping them in gardens. It was like the scenes from a Northern Ireland Estate.

And the auctioneer (Beeston?) saying he sold a lot of three ponies for twenty quid. And still they breed and breed.

I just saw the man with the birds of prey... I expected it to be all pretty and nice but I thought that the horse just looked stressed out about having a dead birds wing swung around it's ears!

i think it was 10 quid! cuz i was thinking "only £3 a pony" its not good....

Well I was at beeston when they were filming. They managed to film me nearly a sleep because the auction was so slow.
I must agree the horse did look stressed with a bird dive bombing him.

Glad someone else thought the poor horse wasn't enjoying it. I'd be willing to bet its been clouted round the ears once or twice by mistake

So I presume those horses were chipped and gelded free of charge...? I wonder if they had to present the horses passports...
To be fair, I thought that most of the tethered ones looked in pretty good condition.

The trouble is while people are offering to take these horses it just provides them with homes and the gypsies then breed more of them. 99% of those featured on the programme were travellers horses as we saw when they interviewed one as they "attended" to thier horses and foal.
