Why breed 8 mares only to cull the foals?????
 
I dont understand why they keep breeding to just cull the foals. What a waste. Dont breed as much and there wont be over crowding.
Poor ponies.
If i had the land, i'd have them.
 
I did think they must have some pretty useless stallions if the reckon having them out only for a couple of months of the year will reduce the number of foals by much!
 
Cutting down on breeding is the only way forward, rubbish about stallions managing the herds. It's sad but I'm not against culling much better than being shipped abroad or being passed from pillar to post here in unsuitable homes
 
Stupid woman!! stop breeding them. Just because its a tradition does not make it right to to breed these poor ponies. Most of them look poor quality so why breed them? geld the colts and stop breeding, its not hard to work out surely.

Agree with you all though, what's even the point in putting the mares through that? :confused: :mad: bloody pointless and incredibly stupid. Going by what you've all said though, having not seen it first hand :(
 
Oh was watching in the bedroom when I took daisy to bed. Even he said I would not look now ! But he is not a horse lover and argued the toss for their right to do it :( I am sure he does it to winde me up. Poor babies I would have some especially the little coloured one
