Im grooming for my first county level showing this summer. Lincolnshire and GYS.
I know the basics look tidy, no jeans, and always a hat. But can anyone show pictures of what they wore?
Can i wear a joules rugby shirt if its hot? or a smart cotton t shirt? or is it more shirt and jumper type?
Thank you!

When I was grooming, I put on navy blue cords, clean and tidy country boots, a pinstripe shirt and smart body warmer. I have a smart leather flat cap for my hat as practically any other hat looks ridiculous on me and I can't afford a patey or similar.

For Blair and the Royal Highland I also made sure I wore a tie.

Last year I groomed at GYS in a pair of jods which had been mucking out/bathing/feeding etc since 5.30am, long stripy socks and a baseball cap. I managed to find a jacket (softshell waterproof type, not a riding jacket) to go over my vest top!
We had a problem with one of the horses and the owners mum was unwell, meaning I was roped in to groom at the last minute! When you're grooming for a multi horse team sometimes it can be difficult to keep clean, specific turnout.

I'm not saying you should go for that type of turnout, just that you won't be banned from the ring (at most shows, some are exceptions) if you don't get it quite right!

When I groomed at the highland I wore black skinny jeans a nice checked ariat shirt and either a v neck jumper or waistcoat depending on weather and a pair of leather long boots
