What with the new show season on the horizon..if it ever stops raining/snowing e.t.c.!! i'm thinking about showing my ex racehorse in Amateur Riding horse classes at County level. Previously i have shown him in ROR classes in a Neue Schule loose ring snaffle, in which he goes great in, and we have moved on nicely into a neue schule pelham for poncing around big shows. Does anyone know if we will get marked down for using the pelham in a Riding horse class? I know ideally a double bridle would be better, he has a lovely soft mouth and is relatively well schooled to Novice dressage level but not ready for 2 bits yet. What do people think???

I used to show my old boy in a joint pelham, he was happy in it not done RH classes for a while as I lost him 2 years ago. But we have an ex racer who will be doing RH classes and he will also be doing it in a pelham as him mouth would not take a Double..... Good luck hope you have a wonderful season.

All comes down to what the horse goes best in!
I worked for a HH showing columist and we had horses at HOYS in Pelhams, Doubles and Swales.
All comes down to what gives the best performance for the horse!
