Anybody use one? If you do have you had it bolted to your trailer or just bonded on with glue?
Also are they really that good?
Just wondering as im looking at buying one but need to get it ordered and sent out ob Tuesday so I can get my dad to fix it to the trailer in advance of my test

My bateson comes with one fitted. I find it very useful, but this is my first trailer so have never tried without!

Well its a Bateson one that ive found on Ebay that is the chepest so far. Ive been told they are very good - saves you either raming the hitch into your bumper or getting out lots if theres no helper to watch you back.
We never had a problem with out Ifor as you could pull it to your car but have an Equitrek that has no handles and is a bit heavy to pull/push.

Maybe I should just get one and see how I get on with it?

I bought a coupling mirror off a website. A bit of a rip-off at £35 to be honest. It was not much bigger than my cars' wing mirror and came with a fixing plate, so you had to drill into trailer- - not sure whether glue on would work.

Basically found it too small and not magnified enough to work.

Got fed up with still not being able to see my tow hitch properly, so Dad picked up a huge lorry wing mirror from a boot fair for £1. It's 3 times the size of the original mirror and works a treat. I did have to paint the surround of my ball hitch white, as with a black gravel drive it was still quite hard to see where the ball hitch was in relation to the trailer.

Definitely worth it I would say. If I am hitching up on my own I can line it up pretty well using the mirror & only have to make one or two adjustments in distance afterwards (mainly because the trailer is quite high up on the jockey wheel due to our security system).

oh dear - thats not good. I found a website that sells them for nearly £40 so went on the search and found that Bateson have them on ebay for £25. The Bateson one says it could be bonded to the trailer. My problem is with bolting it on is it will go into the living on my trailer and if it wasnt sealed proper would leak, so causing problems.

Yes my trailer seems to give a bit when high up on the jockey wheel - but very high up so the front wheels are off the ground (weight bearing) so I may invest in one - may see if dads got a spare mirror around first to see if it would be any good before I purchase one?

The Bateson ones are a good size - bigger than a wing mirror. My trailer front 2 tyres are also slightly off the ground when hitched up to the security device - but in all honesty as I was typing that I thought to myself - why don't I just start to lower it a bit before attempting to reverse the car up - DOOOOOOHHHHHH!

This would make the coupling mirror even more effective as the perspective would be more true when the ball gets underneath it if that makes sense!!!
