I can't remember exact times but I think it was sept time. She didn't run with stallion it was done in hand. Apparently they never managed to cover her due to her seasons and then stallion PTS.

Ah okay, so she can't possibly be pregnant then. Fluid can come out of mares teats at certain times of the year, often around when they are in heat or if they are on good grass. Why don't you just have the mare scanned and see what's going on inside? It's so much more reliable than sitting around trying to figure out what she's doing.

Just managed to find out she was moved to stallions yard around August. But I highly doubt she was covered as lady would have kept her on loan. Okay so lush grass or in season. She is very fat ATM!

Can you post a picture of her for us? Meh I don't know about others on this thread but now that you've mentioned another stallion being in the picture I'm flipping and flopping about what type of advice to offer. Fluid from teats, yes it can happen with horses on high quality grass or when they are in heat, but it obviously also comes out when mares are in the last month or so of pregnancy. You say she's very fat, well again this could be because she's on too much good quality grazing, or once again she could be pregnant (btw the timing would be right if she was in fact bred in August last year). She's flirting with the stallion but won't let him cover her. Yes some maidens do lark around a little and often when they are not receptive. However pregnant mares will act similarly. So for all of the symptoms you are mentioning, it could mean the mare is pregnant or she isn't pregnant. Very difficult for us to give proper advice when now we hear there has been another stallion on the scene who may or may not have bred her.

As far as I am aware she has not been covered and to me I think I would be over-reacting to think she is pregnant. But I can see your point of view it appears to be two possible scenarios. I will take some pics tomorrow hopefully. My gut she isn't pregnant as I cannot see why loaners would send her back if she had been covered. If she is well will find out soon.

There are two possibles:

1. She was covered but they didn't know.

2. She scanned empty due to incompetent vet/late ovulation! One of the first pure-bred mares I bought I got VERY cheaply as she was MEANT to be empty! The filly I got 9 months later was a bonus!:D

I have had 2 maidens this year that wont stand for the stallion, one when he jumped she completely paniced and caused injury to the handler, refused to try again and mare was ai'd,another poorly handled mare, young and maiden, runs a mile when stallion comes out, not prepared to risk staff or horse. Another mare, has foaled before but wouldnt stand, once they start to kicking i wont risk my stallion for any stud fee, again option to ai again.
