I am a little nervous this morning.
My YO breeds and has asked me if I would like to assist covering his mares. He has a girl that works part time during the week, but this one particular mare was not quite ready on Friday so he would like to try her again today.
I have an idea of what to expect but have never helped before. I shall be holding the mare.

you will be fine. It will be very professional, the mare should have a bridle and all you need to do is hold onto the mare and keep hold of it. You'll be fine! and it will be a good experience for you.

we use a bridle and a twitch and if the mare even looks to wriggle jus tighten up the twitch, he should explain to you what exactly will happen before u start , jus dont panic

All back in one piece. Juliana was'nt quite there and would have happily have taken Max's head off if there had'nt been a good strong barn door (purpose built) in the way. She kept turning her bottom at him but was'nt 100% so we shall try again in a couple of days.
Was all very interesting. Thanks for the advice everyone.
