These are the rules for our local BD venue which I think are reasonable.....
  • One helper per horse/rider combination only. NO other Spectators Exceptions in place for Para riders and U18’s who may bring one additional person but they must then stay with their vehicle in the lorry park area
I know that this particular venue likes to have everything done above board, so I am sure they would have used the guidelines from the various governing bodies to come up with this. Have you double checked the policy for U18s for your venue? That said, I am a rule follower, so if a venue chooses to lay down rules, I would either stick with them or go when things are less restricted.

Edited for typo!

I went to a local showground a few weeks ago and some people seemed to bring their whole family along! No one was enforcing the one person per horse rule

I'm a livery on a yard holding large competitions and I have to admit I find it a bit scary. In theory we should be segregated for equine and human health but competitiors are so focused on their day, they forget some of us aren't choosing the risk of going out and competing, but can't easily avoid the risk coming to us.

I need a huge support group when my lad goes out to pony parties so we won't be competing this year.

I believe riders are now allowed to take 2 helpers per horse to BE events from today - 12th April.
Not sure about other competitions though, SJ, BD, so maybe it's up to the organisers.
