Are we allowed to pick up horses at the moment? My friend has bought a new horse but I thought it wasn't allowed? She's been paying livery until restrictions are lifted...

Yup. And to quote:

Travel for the purpose of collecting purchased horses is not generally a reasonable excuse for leaving home, but may be permissible where reasonably required for the animal’s welfare. This will be dependent on the relevant circumstances, including if the collection cannot wait until lockdown has ended. If you need to travel you should stay local – meaning avoiding travelling outside of your village, town or the part of a city where you live – and look to reduce the number of journeys you make overall.

A good number of pro transporters are moving horses around at present.

I moved my friends horse, and it's companion (horse to backing livery, companion back to owners) at the weekend. The grazing they were on was for a limited time only so had to be moved off it.

Didn't think twice about it to be honest, was all within 7 mile radius though.
