Are there any specific rules on number of people hacking ie is it only two people 'taking exercise' together?

I've seen several posts from people on FB showing video's of groups of 3, 4 and 5+ people hacking together. I'm guessing if same household riders is fine BUT what about same livery yard riders?

I'm mostly hacking on my own as usual, but friend up the lane occasionally comes along once at a weekend, sometimes her 12yr old son comes on his mount too.
We consider that to be within the rules as I'm in 1 household and they share another.
If there were the 3 of us when we were In tier 4, I rode in front, they followed at 2 horse lengths behind, everywhere.

You should minimise time spent outside your home, but you can leave your home to exercise. This should be limited to once per day, and you should not travel outside your local area.

You can exercise in a public outdoor place:

  • by yourself
  • with the people you live with
  • with your support bubble (if you are legally permitted to form one)
  • in a childcare bubble where providing childcare
  • or, when on your own, with 1 person from another household

I think it's two people maximum and they must be from the same household. I'm lucky because we keep our horses at home and are part of the same household and only two of us ride. ?

Travelling equines for welfare reasons only, is my understanding & anyway hire of facilities is not permitted

The rules are clear and have been confirmed to our yard owner this week following a complaint. We had three riders (unknown to her) all from separate households who went out together. She was reported. You can only ride with one other person whether that is from your household or another. You cannot have two from one house and one from another. She was threatened with a fine if it happened again. If you are a family group from the same household that is allowed as it is in the case of a walk.
