Cow mattresses - any one ever used them for horses?

Has anyone any experience of using cow mattresses on a stable floor for horses to reduce the need to bed for comfort?

The rubber ones or the cloth ones that you screw onto the floor? There are lots of different kinds I think, and cow things will be much cheaper than 'orse thing

I've just installed Mayomats from CowComfort Ltd in 20 stables, they are fab. I got a sample of the mattress from them, which looked amazing, but was too expensive.

Yes, I use cow mats. I like them more than equimats, much lighter and softer.

I have just put Arkmats down - same as Mayo cow mats http://www.arkmat.co.uk/

Good price and nice and thick. When we were fitting them, they really warm up and are lovely and comfy when you sit on them!

I used the lightweight ones for a while but only in between bull sales as they get confiscated by my oh to use for the bulls in the auction. They are really expensive. I now have thinner heavier ones but not sure what brand they are.

The lighter ones are great, but my stable wasn't a standard size and they used to slip around a bit so would need fixing down really.
